I couldn’t even concentrate in school today, I was just in and out of the class-room, going out to urinate and buying pure water, since I have exhausted the water I came with from home. I couldn’t even save any money today because I have used almost part of the money in buying pure water. I feel so tired and weak that the last fifty naira I could have saved, I had to use it to take a bike home, I normally walk home from school with friends as the distance is just twenty, at most twenty-five minutes walk.
At night,I still couldn’t sleep, I kept on with the frequent urinating and drinking water. I still had to keep my 5liters jug of water by my bedside so I wouldn’t have to walk to the kitchen. At dawn, I was so weak that I couldn’t prepare for school. My mum came to my room and then I told her how I felt, I felt weak and wasn’t fine. She touched my neck with the back of her hand, and said, your temperature is a little bit high, I think it’s malaria, so don’t go to school today so I can get you malaria drugs, and then she saw the empty 5liters jug of water by my bed side and asked who left it there. I told her I was the one because I kept drinking water at night since I was always thirsty and my mouth was always dry.
I took the malaria drugs for the next two-three days but then it seems as if it didn’t work, because I became leaner and weaker. I kept drinking water and my 5liters jug of water was always by my bedside at night. My mom became worried and scared, that she had to tell my dad about my health since it wasn’t improving. I wasn’t going to school and that means I was behind saving money for my birthday. I don’t know why I don’t want to get better, first of all, I hardly fall sick.
I am the only child of my parents who has never been admitted to the hospital since I was born till now, because I barely fall sick, I am that child that whenever I am sick, I get better without taking drugs, how I hate the smell of lornat malaria drugs, when my mom buys and gives me the malaria drugs, I usually hid it whenever she’s not looking or if I have to take the drugs at all, I have to take it with the use of eba, whereby I will have to put the drugs into a medium size of eba and then swallow it, but then this time I had to take the malaria drugs but it seems it wasn’t working
